Justin would be 9 years old – Wow how time flies!! We Decided to go swimming in Manti to celebrate Justin’s birthday, we took Cassi with us and the kids had so much fun Even Madelaina. She loves to splash and play in the water. I made 3 round cakes for the kiddos to decorate themselves. They love cooking and frosting cookies and stuff like this. Heather was staying at grandmas so she came and decorated one too. Just love these kiddos and everyday that we are blessed to have them make us smile!

10 Months old with 4 Teeth

Here we are trying to capture some good shots of Madelainas teeth she is 10 months old and has 4 beautiful Chompers! her first tooth came in at 4 months then the other 3 not far behind. Joe at home with the kiddos, just spotted these photos after downloading the camera. They are great kids, taking care of each other! I am so grateful that Joseph loves to spend time with the kiddos, they absolutely love him at home too!!

June 5, 2011 - Cruzin’ Susan…retiring after driving bus for 26 years. we all got together and threw her a surprise party at the park. Always fun with food and the family.

Mom and Dad (Grandma and Papa) PJ picked some rhubarb for aunt Khristie who came over to Ftn. Green to make jam as a coverup to get everyone together for the party.. The Desert Lost??

so after a fun adventure at Lehman’s Cave we ventured out on the desert. I had been there many times as a child but never remember it being so far out in the middle of nowhere!!! As I said before we were kinda looking forward to some sunshine, but we received snow instead! so here we are driving down a mushy gravel road into the middle of the desert pulling doubles, hoping we don’t get stuck, with no cell service, nor any other traffic. smart eh??? our first adventure was the goldfish spring. we had to look through the mossy troughs but found quite a few fish, we caught a few and threw them in a container to take home and proud of our findings continued on down the road being careful not to pull too far to the sides so we wouldn’t sink out of site!! the roads were very mushy especially with our big camp and ranger on. we drove and drove in the rain and cold wind until we came upon skunk springs. we decided to camp here…on the road…for the night. the boys pulled of their 4wheeler, Ranger and Motorbike. they got so wet and muddy, when they were cold and worn out they came into the camp to warm up. Joe and I kept trying to decide which road to turn and go south on again and couldn’t decide because the road we were on was the best and still wasn’t that grand. So we left Morgan with the kiddos and decided to drive on in the Ranger to check out the pathway. The next day we decided to turn around and travel all the way back the way we had come instead of traveling through Marjum Pass. Which we are glad we did because the next day we found out there were people who were stuck there overnight in just a pickup, no trailers. while we were at our campspot we had so much fun!! We went on a fun ranger ride the next day, saw some wonderful scenery, antelope and even Chased some wild Horses!! So much fun!

Kash Posing! “Mom take a picture of Me!”The Desert and Its Beauty We caught a bunch of goldfish, of which most died the first day, then we had to go back and catch somemore on our way home, there we also caught a Horned Toad… (if this is illegal please don’t tell) 9 days after we got it home and put it in the aquarium with the lizard it layed eggs!! crazy, just wish we could have hatched a few. The boys just love animals! I had my eye out for snakes, but am I glad we never did see one!! What a funny Photo! PJ you crack us up all the time! Love YOU!! Another one of the beauties of the desert…can you spot the Antelope?

After the long travel back the way we had already come…we ended up just a few miles east on the other side of Marjum Pass for our next night, there we stayed and dug for trilobites the next day…did you know most of Utah was covered by water years ago?? The Trilobites were lots of fun even though I did not capture any photos of it we have the trilobites to prove it!! Ha.

I would have to say besides being in the middle of nowhere with my sweet little family….one of the other favorite part of the trip was when we came upon 5 wild horses. I have video footage of this event but no photos to share, so I will see what I can do to post this also. Lots of fun!! and now that we know our way around the Desert we will definately be back for another trip!

Memorial Day 2011

so here we are looking for a nice warm place to go and hang out on memorial day…..the Desert right??? …..wrong! It snowed on us about 4-6 inches the first night we got to the Border. We pulled our Camp and Ranger. we ended up staying at a trailer hookup at the Border Inn the first night and were very surprised to wake up to the Snow! we drove about 15 miles to Lehman Cave. it was so fun the boys thought the cave was amazing! Kash had to potty so bad, we didn’t know what to do so Joseph stayed behind and let him potty in the cave!! shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! you are not even supposed to touch or rub up against the walls, let alone potty in there! Then after Lehman Cave we Drove out the Desert Roads, down memory lane and the Sheep Trails…more photos and explanation to come!

March 14, 2011 – here we are making cotton candy the day before Syds Wedding!! we recruited the best help ever!! Grandma, Morgan, Afton, PJ, Kash, Madelaina, Joseph and I… then Shanny came a little later but I didn’t get any photos of her…. we made so much cotton candy that we were all stuffed full of sugar and sticky from head to toe!! Sydney and Weston did a Candy Bar for their treats at the wedding I will have photos in the next post. It turned out great and looked very nice too, they kept everything with the black, white and red theme. except for the pink cotton candy!

Kash Turns 4! April 10, 2011 He was so happy to finally turn 4 years old!!! The month before he took 3rd place at state little league wrestling tournament, at the ripe old age of three. He is very strong for his age and only weights 4 lbs. less than big brother. He is very quite and a deep thinker does not like to kiss you in front of other people. He is 110% pure boy rough and tough. But yet so gentle with his baby sis the he will kiss all the time and play with non stop even during nap time yup just get in her crib with her. He and PJ have even changed her. Thank goodness it was just wet. He loves animal and will spend alot of time just holding them and playing with them. He can ride a bike without training wheels. - Joe

The Cake and Cupcakes were so fun to make! the cake even has cannons ( the candles). I think Fondant is my new favorite cake maker! do you think he is excited?? Playing in the back yard with his cousins with all of his new toys! I think he would have had just as much fun even if there weren’t any new toys. He loves it when he can play with his cousins and friends!

Redwood Forest

the following photos are of our trip the end of March to the Redwood Forest/San Francisco….Via Joes cell phone photos… you remember I said that there are over 1200 other photos just from our camera so beware this is just the beginning! Photos are just such a fun way to remember, and believe me I think we take more than anyone I know!

the Redwoods were AMAZING!! definitely a trip all in its own! We wish that we would have had more time to spend there, it was still rainy and kinda cold most days so we didn’t get to hike a lot. Here the boys are on a fallen down tree, they are so huge you really have to be there to appreciate the size and beauty.

You can’t really get the best view from in the car, so Joseph and the kids rode on the top while I drove down this dirt road for a while to get a better view and soak it up!

We stopped at this fun little place where most of the redwoods are that are in the Guienness Book and of course Paul Bunyon and Babe the big blue ox. It was called the Trees of Mystery. there they have the Candlestick tree. and the cathedral tree, where people get married, there was also this ski lift thing that took you up through the mountain so you could really get a good look, this was PJ’s favorite part. False Klamath Coveat Klamath Cove doing some Whale watching, didn’t see any… just sealions.We took a scenic drive and stopped in this little town, it was just the perfect time of day..every one was just unloading their crab boats and loading them into trucks to ship. we sat and watched, kind of fun to watch them, then this guy gave both PJ and Kash their own crab to take home and cook!! We threw them back into the ocean after we played with them for awhile because we didn’t have anywhere to cook them. (darn I really could have gone for some fresh crab!)

It is so funny to watch Kash because he is so calm…He is a lot more aggressive when he wrestles PJ at home. I just had to put this match on here because I think this little boy is so funny! As Joe was coaching Kash, this little boy gave Joe a piece of his mind TWICE!! so cute and funny! I didn’t capture the best video because I was laughing so hard and trying to figure out what the boy is saying?? setting Joe straight that’s for sure!

10 Wonderful Years

March 10, 2011 I was at home running around like normal, just got back from picking up Kash from school, getting PJ ready to go to school. A knock on the door with a delivery of a dozen yellow roses.. I thought oh how sweet that he would remember we had yellow roses for our wedding….she chuckled and said just a minute I have a “few” deliveries for you. PJ and Kash helped her carry in 10 dozen roses! All different shapes sizes and colors. One for every Month spent together. Come to find out he had to order them in advance to get that many and during the week of prom too. a few weeks later I called to ask if they wanted some vases back to recycle, and Anita Farmer said I want you to know that you are a record in my book! My house smelled and looked beautiful for well over a week. What a sweet Husband to remember so well and thank you!….for 10 Wonderful Years!

For our anniversary we went back to San Francisco. Who would have known that after going here on our Honeymoon, we would be bringing our children back here 10 years later. More to come on San Fran………

The Boys and Their Favorite part of Helping Mom Make Cookies!!

Potato Sack Racing… I Mean Garbage Sack Racing…..Although this looks dangerous no one was injured or hurt… even after they decided to slide down the stairs in them. TWO VERY TUCKERED BOYS… They would have to be to think this was the most comfortable way to sleep, don’t you think? I just had to stick these photos in. Madelaina is 8 months old and still holds her little legs up to her belly like she still belongs in the woomb… Thank heavens she’s not weighing in at probably 18 lbs. March 17, 2011 ST. Patricks DAy! Karley, Kesley and Tina just couldn’t let Madelaina get by without painting her toenails green!! They just love her and I love that they keep me in the know on the “girl stuff” PJ gave Madelaina her first sucker on our way home from Terrels. She loved it and sucked it down to the tootsie part ( Tootsie Pop) If I would have had another one we would have given it to her becuase she enjoyed it so much and got mad when it was gone. Ignore the scratches on her face…. the one on her nose she did one night in her sleep, so we trimmed her fingernails and must have left a sharp edge because the next morning she woke up with the big one on her forehead!! poor kid… horrible parents!

I am soooooo sick of this weather!!! I wish it would decide to keep snowing and stay cold(keep the mud froze) or warm up to get rid of all the mud! This is just one of the many instances caught on film… while i was taking this photo of PJ, Kash was standing at the back door shaking the mud off of his hands…..He just as well been a dog shaking it off…it was everywhere!!!!

I had just gotten Madelaina out of the tub and not quite ready for bed… I left her on the floor to play and a few moments later here she is… Joseph grabbed the camera and took some quick shots. She has gotten a new habit of sucking her thumb… cute right??? I love that she can comfort herself and the first ultrasound we did she was sucking her thumb. But I hope that It doesn’t become a bad habit.

February 10, 2011~ I noticed Madelaina has her bottom teeth!!! The night before Kash said hey look Madelaina has teeth and I don’t know why but we really didn’t check it out cause I have been watching so close for weeks now because she drools like crazy. Kash noticed first, and couldn’t figure out why we were making such a big fuss over her teeth the next day when he had told us the night before! We call her our little T-REx and we are in trouble because now the boys think she can eat anything! 6 1/2 months old with two new teeth!

So here we are again trying to catch up on the blog, so much has happened and we are staying busy! on Feb, 5 Austin and Natalie were able to go through the Manti Temple and were also sealed. Mark and Nanalee work there on saturdays and were able to pull a few strings…. they were sealed in one of the upper sealing rooms so we got to walk up the spiral stairs…Austin was bound and determined to do it without any help. What a great day, and special time to be able to be there with them, and share in their Joy!

Time Goes Too Fast!

6 Months old and an almost 4 year Old!

At six months old Madelaina weighs in at 15.28 lbs and is 26.3” tall. And has been sleeping all night for a week and a half! (I hope that lasts!) At 3 years and 9 months Kash weighs 39 lbs and is 40 1/2 inches tall.

Our little Princess is an Angel!! We thought that our other babies were good, but she is great! Aside from giving her dad grief about not eating while mom is at work, we are so lucky to have yet…another good baby.

She smiles all of the time… Literally all of the time.

Loves her veggies! Peas are her favorite.

Rolled over for the first time on Christmas.

Loves the sound of her voice, she will put her hand on her voice box and make noises to hear and feel the vibrations.

Her head measures at 96%tile and the doctor wants us to come back in a month to measure it again and make sure that its not growing too big too fast…I assured her that she’s just a Cook… Big heads run in the Family!(LOL)

Funny Story… on Christmas morning I went to pick up Madelaina and she was laying on her back, she had rolled over and so after the boys were finished ripping open their presents I said, “hey guess what!, Madelaina rolled over!” I put her on her tummy on the floor and she rolled over for everyone to see! the boys laughed and were so excited, got down on the floor and in her face and said, “Good Job!” now Crawl!, Crawl!, come on you can do it!” oh the excitement of these kiddos keep me going!

Overheard

PJ - the other day I went to pick up PJ from School… PJ gives Joe a bad time about drinking Mtn. Dew because one day he overheard us talking about our goals to be healthy, so he’s just trying to help….reminds him all of the time that it is bad for him to drink pop, and the fact that we wont let him and Kash drink it. So lately I’ve been a little hooked on my Energy – Crystal light. just a little powder packet that you add to water with a little caffeine in it. I hate pop and have found this to be my Diet Coke!! ……… so PJ jumps in the van,

“Mom, Can I have a drink of that?”

mom: “No, it has caffeine in it, but here’s some water”

PJ: sad face “ Oh- so what your going to start SMOKING tomorrow!”

mom: Baffled – What do you say to such a smart kid!

KASH – We were driving to Provo on our way to the Dr. it was about 9:30 am.

“Mom, My left Foot is Starving!”

Mom: “ok Kash, does that mean that your hungry?”

Kash: “yeah I think that we need to stop at McDonalds because my Left Foot is Starving!”

Mom: Chuckles, tosses him some cashews and wishes that we had time to stop at McDonalds.

The Polar Express

The worst thing about having two cameras!! The one camera is too big and bulky to take everywhere, so you forget you have photos to download on the other camera. One of the funnest things that we finally did this year was the Polar Express Ride on the Heber Creeper. (we tried to do it last year but couldn’t get tickets) It was FREEZING! Josephs toes were so cold but the kids didn’t seem to mind too much. They served us Hot Chocolate, & Cookies and we sang songs and played games until we got to the North Pole, then Santa boarded the train and talked to the kids and gave them a little wooden top. The kids Absolutely loved it!

We went Shopping at the University Mall the Saturday before christmas… surprisingly it was Joe’s idea. I was so glad that he was excited to go shopping because I still had a big long list of items to get. He endured it well and only complained once when we were waiting in line for Santa and he went to get a pretzel..the line was just as long for a pretzel as it was for Santa! We had alot of fun and the kids loved seeing Santa. Christmas was so much fun this year.. I was using the video camera so there are not many still photos. The kids were even excited to share the motorbike.

These Photos were actually taken the end of September, Madelaina was only two months old and had just had her shots that day. We were so lucky that we got a few photos of her asleep because she was an honoree bear any time you touched or moved her legs! Joseph was set on having some new family photos…it was the last thing I was ready for at two months post baby. But agreeing that photos are priceless I agreed and I am glad that we did because they turned out not too bad!! The boys did great for the first 10 minutes… then they just wanted to be funny and wouldn’t hold still. (hence the silly faces Photo) They were poking Jammie with sticks and running around. We tried to bribe them by telling them we would go get a shaved ice afterwards..I think it helped a little..so I am surprised that we did get some pretty cute shots of them too. And sure..I am ready to loose a few more pounds…like 15!!… but they did turn out very nice..Jammie Hansen does a great job! And How did I get so Lucky to Have Such a CUte Family?!!!

….Twist ‘Em Like a Pretzel!!

-the boys first Wrestling tournament November 13, 2010 Salina, UT ..…Talk about intense situation… this wrestling stuff was a bit intense for mom… but the boys did wonderful!! Joseph is a great coach for these two up and coming champion wrestlers. this was a last minute decision to take the boys to this tournament, they each had to wrestle 4 times. It was like a round robin tournament, Kash is a little young..again we snuck him in under the age limit… but in his weight bracket he did a pretty good job. PJ is learning the moves and even knows exactly what a half Nelson is and how to carry through the move. I have got to get some of this on video so that you can see just how fun and intense it is to watch. They were both so excited to win a metal like their Dad’s, and I think Dad was a little overexcited too!! I love these Boys!! All Three of them!

It was so nice to have Karley with us to help out with Madelaina… but I think Karley had just as much fun with the baby as the boys did wrestling. After the tournament we went to Richfield and started on our christmas shopping at Wal-Mart. It was a fun day!

PJ and Kash wanted to make a birthday cake…so here we mad two half rounds then they got to decorate it however they wanted! It started out with just the snomobiles then other toys were discovered and added later. We did this on a monday and then on Tuesday PJ had invited some friends over for a party ( I had two moms call me and wonder if we were really inviting kids to PJ’s party) I had explained to PJ that it was his and Kash’s unbirthday, so he was just simply inviting friends from school for his unbirthday party, so we had them come and play and ate this crazy cake!!

Happy Halloween!

The week before Halloween we took the kids to Gardner Village… we were in SLC for something else and I talked Joseph into going there we thought it was alot of fun, the kids had a great time checking out all of the witches.

Kash dressed up and had a little party at preschool then the next day both PJ and Kash got to dress up for PJ’s School and have a halloween Parade. Halloween lasted all week long by the time they dressed up again on Saturday. Joseph took them trick or treating kindof early in the Ranger then it started to snow and rain on them, they came in for awhile then went out again.. then I couldn’t resist taking them to June Garrisons to get a donut hole on our way to Grandmas house. Fun week and a fun halloween! On Saturday…Halloween day we finally were able to carve our pumpkins! Heres Dad and the boys starting the project… then Dad and Madelaina fell asleep and Mom and the Boys finished the project! Finished Product!!! the boys loved this and want to do it every day even still… I had to tell them just the other day(it is the end of November now) that all of the pumpkins are frozen and had to be made into pies for thanksgiving… we also made a small jack-o-lantern for JJ and took it out to him on our way to ftn. green.

The Kids had been wanting to get a pumpkin for a couple of weeks and I kept putting them off of buying one at walmart because I kept telling them you can go to a pumpkin patch and choose one of your own. So here we are UEA break at about 2 pm we drove to spring city, picked up Morgan and Afton and found the pumpkin patch there in Spring City. when we got there the gate was closed….It doesn’t open til 4 pm …so I tried to call the phone number on the gate…no answer… we went in the pumpkin patch anyways and then went to the owners house to pay for the pumpkins after… I had never felt so uneasy and like a trespasser in my life! I’m just glad that Morgan was with us and made me feel at ease, his teacher owned the pumpkin patch and he knew where she lived so we could leave an envelope with some money in it. The Kids had such a fun time choosing their own pumpkins! Morgan chose his fairly quick, PJ and Kash helped Afton, they figured she and Madelaina needed little ones and then they found two of the biggest ones for themselves.

This is it! the Perfect one for Me! can I have this one and the big huge one that I can’t carry? And here’s PJ trying to lift his before he decides that rolling it will be much easier.

Well…. my C Drive is officially completely full of photos… no more space!! Do we take too many photos? some may say yes, but to me they are all priceless and help recollect many memories. I just purchased another external hard drive to move all of my photos onto, and here we are still sharing more photos from the month of October!

For family night we went to take a look at Bro. Bradleys baby Miniature Horse. It is so little just like a little Dog… this is what we have coming next summer!! We were able to get pretty close but the baby didn’t want to play. Baby Madelaina Always Smiling

Nanalee had the dress made for Madelaina by a lady in our ward, Bonnie Fullmer. It is beautiful and such intricate detail. She brought one to show me while I was still pregnant and I said.. I had pictured a longer one with more ruffles, so that is what she did, she added another ruffle and made it longer, it also made it a bit heavier but I absolutely loved it. Then bonnie just couldn’t resist to make some booties to go with it, then I had her make the headband too. Beautiful for a Beautiful Girl! - Thanks Grandma Nanalee.

Madelainas big day! October 10, 2010

What a wonderful day to celebrate the birth of our new baby girl! Joseph did such a great job. My children are so fortunate to have such a good Dad!

The Name & Blessing: Madelaina - Named after my grandmother (Nonnie) Madelyn, with an Italian naming twist. We both fell in love with the name the first time we heard, seen it, and said it. Although Joseph and his Mom keep trying to change the spelling of it to Madalaina…just more like it sounds. Joseph also gave her a wonderful blessing of health and a good life. We are overwhelmed of the love of our new baby girl and her constantly smiling face. And thankful for the opportunity we have to be parents.

This time around we decided not to invite aunts, uncles and extended family simply because of the size that our immediate family is growing to. With just our brothers, sisters and their kids we still had over 85 people at the luncheon. How awesome is that!? we have such a great family and I feel that we are all pretty close and love to get together when things like this give us an excuse to. We went to the Opera House here in Moroni and had a wonderful meal, with Lamb and smoked ham, then everyone brought yummy salads and deserts we ended up with way too much because everyone brought something yummy, and some too many something yummys! I think Tammy brought 4 deserts! We are definately very blessed to have such a wonderful family.

The boys were so excited to play soccer! This has been such a fun year for the kiddos and their sports because Kash is finally old enough (ok old enough to sneak thru the cracks). We were at Scofield, just bringing our camp home off of the mountain after loading lambs, I found some easter eggs in the cupboard so Joseph put them out for the kids to find, they were so excited, Kash found the first few he had two in his hands and turned to me and said,

Kash: “Hey Mom, do you want one?”

Me: (thinking he is going to share) “Sure Kash, Thank You!”

Kash: “ Well, go find some then!”

Updates of our life lin the last 2 months! wow has it really been that long since I posted on the Blog?

Rabia, This one is for you! thanks for the cute T-shirts! The boys loved the package of goodies you sent!! and so did we!! They are just wondering when you are coming to visit again?? Kash and Baby Sis- They love to hold her and burp her for me, since they don’t get to feed her very often.

Labor Day 2010 – Yellowstone here we come!

On our way to yellowstone, we stopped in Lava Hot Springs and stayed and swam in the hot springs there, the next day we slept in, then stopped at Bear World before getting to Yellowstone. Bear world was tons of fun, even though our van almost got eaten by a bear! the Bear got up close and personal, licked our bumper and chewed on our back license plate! the boys thought this was the coolest thing ever! They also pet the deer, goats and small animals in the petting zoo. Bear world was fun and worth the stop to see some animals.

Here we are just driving down into yellowstone park, it was so windy and cold on this day, Madelaina stayed in the car and covered up most of the day, thats why she’s not in this photo. The Park had beautiful scenery, we stopped at Midway Geyser and the boys went touring the geysers. (Joseph tells this part best by one of his journal entries)

Pj was very nervous did not want to go the steam rose up the white mist looked like heavy dark smoke like a big grass fire, hard to see you had to walk on about a 4 foot section of wood with a little hand rail. I assured PJ it would be okay Kash told him it would be fine and fun also. So ahead we went across the big steamy river then up a little hill the on top the geyser top at times you could not see your hand in front of your face. My sun glasses quickly filled with fog and steamed up taking them off didn’t help much either. Sometimes all you could hear was rushing water, with car tires going flat losing air psi. PJ's little hand would not let go of the hand rail or my hand, Kash walk to the other side of me holding my hand but on the side with no hand rail. The trail went up along the side of the falls which came from the giyser then made a full circle around other steamy parts of the grand geyser there was a toilet bowel with other little pockets of water with steam coming of those too. At time you where in total darkness i mean total darkness of a white out like snowmobiling don’t know where you are cant tell up from down from north to south total lost for moments. PJ at this time had tears. As he fought through the tears he spoke up and said Jesus Christ does not want us to let go of this. He dropped my hand and grasp a hold the the hand rail with both hands now. He also was concerned the all the other kids and people who were not holding onto the handrail. He said Jesus will not protected them if they let go. Layne and I where astonished of how well he was relating our experience there to the tree of life we read weeks earlier. There was darkness uncertain things out there danger signs caution signs. lots of seam thick white clouds of darkness which when they lifted you where left semi cold damp and uncomfortable. As I and his cousins and little brother where being taught by this 5 year old I was so humbled and grateful for the book of Mormon and how life our life our day can be full of things just like Lehi's dream and what we where experiencing at this geyser. Old faithful was grand. I sat and held my little daughter in side the eating area with my feet up just sat and took it all in here perfect little body and the mother nature God's handy work.

The guys spotted this Elk from the road while driving through, everyone was looking from the road, but Joseph, Layne and Morgan had to get up close and personal. Kash was snapping Photos and told us all to turn around and say cheese! pretty good photo although he is not in it.

Old Faithful! – it was a little cold and windy while the boys and I went outside to watch Old Faithful, Joseph stayed inside with Madelaina, and watched from the big window.

The last night of our trip we stayed in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Fun place, but just a tourist town. (another Journal entry by Joseph): We stayed at the snow king lodge. had a good time the next morning we rode the ski lifts up the mtn. viewed the grand tetons took 20 mins. to go up and the same time to go down. that was after kash and pj had to leave a surprise up on top of the mtn. I swang my legs made the whole lift sway pj didnt like it he was already nervous to go. Little brohter Kash telling pj it would be okay big boys ride it its really fun pj. PJ consented to do so after Kash told him everything would be okay. So layne started swing his legs Kash quick to act hit layne ripped his sunglasses off throw them of the lift and proceeded to tell him to knock that of. Layne said dont you like that kash. Kash said yes but pj doesnt like it and it is scaring pj and to stop it defending big brother again. Little madelaina was a trooper good as gold so were heath's boys.

On PJ’s birthday the Elders Quorum went for a horse ride..Kash really wanted to go with Joseph. He was a trooper, but did get tired and fell asleep on the ride back to the trailers. They rode up Spring City to the Horseshoe, so Joseph took Layne and Morgan with, Morgan said it was the first time he has ridden that far by himself. they had a great time.

On PJ’s Birthday 8-24 he got to go to kindergarten for a meet the teacher day!! He was so excited and both Joe and I got to go with him. I didn’t think much of it until they took him to the front of the class and put a crown on his head and sang him happy birthday, he loved it and was beaming, all of the sudden the tears started to flow!! oh boy I didn’t know I was going to cry!! Here he is all grown up on the next day, the first official day of Kindergarten. PJ and Kash were both excited to get to the school, PJ showed Kash where his locker was and then went right to class and got to work! Love You PJ! Here’s to beginning of the next 13 years of school!

PJ Turns 5!

What a Lucky Boy!!! or Spoiled I should say!!! We had 2 parties for PJ one with the family and then one at the park with his little friends. He had lots of fun! for the party with the family we did BBQ turkey, cake and icecream, and then a Movie under the stars! since PJ had won the pony we decided to do a carnival theme because we knew the kids would love riding the little horses, since we had Winstons here too. We had a jumpy castle, dart game and other games….even fresh cotton candy!! I am so glad that we have opportunities to get our family together and celebrate! PJ has waited for this day forever it seems!! we kept telling him that around his birthday he would have a baby sister, so when she came 3 weeks early it was even harder to convince him that his birthday was coming up. He seems so old to be a big 5 year old and go to kindergarten, and acts older everyday – where does the time go? Love you PJ and Happy Birthday!

2 Weeks Old

8-11-10 Weighing in at 6 lbs 8 oz at her two week check, babysis is doing great! We had to go to Payson to the Dr. for her two week check so we went on up to the mall and did some photos! The kids were great, & we couldn’t have done it without grandma Nanalees help. When the boys were done grandma took them to build-a-bear while we finished up the photos with Madelaina. We also went to lunch at Carrabas with Joe. The kids favorite place to eat, because they have kid dough! At Carrabas I spilled my water all over myself and started to cry, I went to the bathroom to collect myself and PJ came in to check on me. He had already taken Joe’s water and filled my cup, evening out the two so we both had the same amount and then told me that I could wear his pants and he would wear my wet ones. this made me cry even more because of his sweet love and concern. I thanked him and gave him a big hug, when we started to go back to the table he looked at me and said, “hey Mom….How did you do that?” Seriously I don’t know but it was worth the laugh! …and the cry. I love these little ones more than I ever thought possible!

Cook Reunion 8-14-2010

The Cook reunion, lots of fun, games and family. Molly was in charge this year and did a wonderful job!! It was nice for everyone to have an excuse to get together…wow how everyones children have grown. If you thought the cook family was big before; its growing even bigger. It was really fun to see everyone and visit with those we don’t get to see very often. Molly held a raffle for a miniature horse. I think all of the kids wanted it and just knew they were going to win, the poor thing got played with for 2 days straight. On Saturday morning when we were getting ready to go back on the mountain, Joseph hooked on to the ranger trailer, PJ said, “Dad we are taking the wrong trailer, we can’t bring my horse home in this one.” Joseph kinda chuckled and loaded the ranger. Well guess who won the raffle and brought home the horse! thats right! PJ won the Horse!! The money from the raffle was given to Austin. We were all so overwhelmed by the love and kindness of everyone, and very shocked that PJ won the Horse! Thanks Molly!

Our first visitors were her sweet brothers who have been waiting forever it seems for this day to come. and Grandma Susan and Pa Pa Phil….. they had taken 18 grandkids to the pool in payson and came to visit us afterward, they were a little sunburned and I think a little worn out! thanks Mom and Dad for taking care of the kids and always making it fun for them!

The boys adore her from the moment they seen her… They were so sad when they had to leave her with me at the hospital, Kash said,”Mom make sure you bring her home when she wakes up!” We had to reassure them that we wouldn’t leave her at the hospital.

I sent Joe to the store to get me a pillow for the second night stay at the hospital…..He got a pillow, but look at what else he picked up! I think he's already becoming a softie for his little princess.

We finally have her home! We made the boys take a bath before they could hold her.

Thursday At 3:00 am my water broke, as Joseph awoke he looked at me in disbelief… just the night before I told him that it is finally hitting me…we are going to have a baby in about 2 1/2 weeks if they start me 1 week early. I had better get the nursery and a few things ready for this little one. So when my water broke less than five hours later it was a big surprise to both of us. He called his Mom and she came up to be with the kids, with no bags packed we hurriedly threw a few things together and off to Provo we went. I called Tammy at 4 am on our way and she met us there. Thank heavens for my own personal Nurse! I was only dilated to a 2 when we got there and it didn’t look like things were going to happen very fast, we could not start the pit yet because baby girl didn’t look very good while monitoring her during the contractions. After moving around a little and getting her to look better we finally started the pit at around 10 am. The little turkey just had to scare us and make us nervous! Delivery was probably the easiest out of the four because she was only 6lb 11 oz. delivering at exactly 3:00 pm, I was still in disbelief that we actually have a little girl! We were also a little nervous, her being 3 weeks and 3 days early that she would have to spend a day or two in the ICU, but she passed all the tests and looked great! The only trouble we had was keeping her blood sugar count high enough, and had to do a few extra billiruben tests, but by Saturday afternoon we brought her home.. Oh the Sweetness of a new Baby Girl!

My friend Kori wanted to go to Grandpa Merrills yard and take photos of her little girl Ashlin- at 11 months old. The Boys really didn’t want to cooperate from the get go…they didn’t want to wear what I wanted them to wear. While taking photos I had to bribe them with a promise to go get shaved ice when we were done. They just wanted to be too helpful with Ashlin trying to get her to look at the camera. We got some really cute photos of Ashlin and a few of the boys. I spotted this wagon in the Nunleys front yard and just had to ask to borrow it…..I think she thought I was crazy! I was so glad that we went to the Ute Stampede this year! I wasn’t feeling much like going anywhere!! We went with our Friends Matt and Ralaina and their kiddos. The traditional flag jumper started things off just right with the kids so excited to see a man jump out of an airplane. The kids had a great time at the rodeo and then stayed at the carnival pretty late after. PJ and Kash played a dart game and won two big stuffed dogs, the guy that was in charge of the game knew Joe, from fixing his Transmission so he was very kind to the boys! He yelled out Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!! and embarrassed us all twice!! once for Kash and once for PJ , the boys now play like they are carnival workers and laugh about the guy being so animated. It was fun and needless to say I was glad we went.

4th of July

the tradition of the 4th of July is to sit at Josephs parents house for the parade. The boys were so excited for the parade and the airplane to drop the ping pong balls. Then we went up to the park and let the kids play games. To escape the heat we went on the mountain to Home Sweet Home and camped the rest of the weekend with my family. We drove the Ranger down the logging trail and watched the fireworks in Scofield from the mountain. This is always a fun experience and it is fun to spend time with family. on Sunday the 4th it snowed on us, but by the end of the day it stopped snowing and raining and warmed up enough to go sit by the campfire.

Fathers Day 2010

After looking through some photos I realized that I needed to blog these ones from June… Once I get caught up it will be nice and look more organized…. Fathers Day June 20, 2010. PJ was so excited to sing in church, he walked right up to the front and sang his heart out. It was so fun to see him so excited. Joseph had been on a Harley ride to southern Utah and had just gotten home Saturday night, when we got up Sunday morning PJ told him that his favorite thing was when his dad was home with them. What more could you want to hear from your son, especially on Fathers day! He also continued to tell him that Mom threw a fit! I have to admit this pregnancy has been so much more emotional for me than the other three. I did kinda throw a fit, the boys were running around playing and having fun and I kept asking them over and over again to pick up the room they didn’t even hear me so I screamed! They both looked at me and looked at each other then started laughing because they had never seen me do that they didn’t know what to think, then I just started to cry and went in my bedroom and felt so bad, they picked up their mess and toys and then came in and hugged me, Kash said, “You need Dad huh”. they are such sweet boys, and thankfully Joseph was home that night and PJ was right mom did “Throw a Fit”. After church we went to Ftn. Green for a BBQ at my parents house. The cousins always have alot of fun together and Grandpa even got on the trampoline with them. The Bat Cave!

June 29, 2010 – When the boys got home from the mountain they went on a Ranger ride to see an old gold mine in the north hills! Thats right!! gold in Moroni. Joseph and his cousins, Jon, Thomas and Winston have been talking about it for weeks and decided to take the kiddos to see the Cave. When they got home PJ and Kash told me all about it and called it the Bat Cave! I guess they seen alot of bat poop!

Tuesday June 29 – PJ and Kash are the luckiest boys ever!! They get to have their Dad stay home with them on Tuesdays while Mom goes to work. Joseph decided that there are certain perks of owning your own business and this is one of them! He really is a great Dad! On this particular tuesday they went on the mountain to move our camp from Winter Quarters up to Home Sweet Home. They left Monday night and slept overnight then moved the camp the next day. When they got to the camp it had been taken over by a few mice! So on the hunt they went at 11pm for mice. They had alot of fun and were able to ride 4-wheelers and the Ranger then took the camp to the top. Thanks Dad for being the best Dad ever!

On June 26, 2010 a Saturday we went and stayed in a hotel in South Salt Lake. We went to visit Uncle Austin at I-Med and then went swimming at the Cowabunga Bay. Swimming was awesome!!! there were tons of water slides. The boys were a little nervous at first but got used to all the slides. Morgan talked Joseph into going down the big Cahuna and they both hurt their backs but has so much fun. My favorite was the lazy river! (Imagine that) only 7 weeks left in the pregnancy and I want to be lazy!! When we were just about finished swimming then we got a phone call from Austin that said he was ready to go to Wall-mart!! What!? He had decided that he was going to go to Bountiful the next day for Anthony’s Farewell, but he needed some clothes to go. So off we hurried to get to I-Med so that we could help Austin get to Wall-mart! The Dr.’s had him do a transfer test just to see if he could move enough to get into the car. Sure enough he was ready to get out of that hospital bed! We drove down 5300 south to the west and went to wall-mart only 5 minutes away, the Boys were so excited and I think smothered him a bit by wanting to push his wheelchair and be by his side the hole time. He found some nice black pants a shirt and tie and some socks for church the next day and of course a 24 pack of Mtn. Dew! It was so good to see him out and enjoying the outing so much. Once he made up his mind he was going nobody asked any questions!

Swimming Lessons

LiveJournal Tags: The First of June we enrolled the kids into swimming lessons.....thinking they would absolutely love it!! yeah right! It was kind of a fight to get them into the water every day..it doesn't help that the water was ususally freezing cold. They just wanted to go to the manti pool and play instead. Into the second week they calmed down a bit and enjoyed it more. PJ and Kash were great,they are little fish and love the water. They learned some strokes with their arms that they use now when they are just playing around. So it was worth the two weeks of torture in a cold pool every day!

LiveJournal Tags: T-Ball 2010 - PJ and Kash were so excited to play together this year on the same team and to top it all off,Dad gets to be the coach!! (which also means that mom has to help!) It has been so fun to watch the boys play and grow up. PJ is very aggressive,he tackles his own teamates to get the ball and throw it to first base. by the end of the season,which just ended the end of june he was more willing to share by getting the ball then letting someone else throw it. We told him once to share and let someone else get the ball,and he said well you told me to get the ball,so we decided not to tell him to not play as hard and assertive. Kash was just excited to hit the ball and run around the bases,he wasn't so fond of being in the outfield but would endure! One day he told Joe,"Dad,you have to yell at us"..Why? Joe asked "Because...your the Coach!" Joseph was a great coach and it was fun!

Ok so this post is more for me and the purposes of keeping the blog updated to someday do a book/journal. on Justins Birthday we had alot of fun! we made him a birthday cake as a joint effort . Morgan slept over and the next morning PJ woke up so excited!! He came running into our room and was so excited to wake us up… Its JJ’s birthday! he said and was so thrilled…he had a great idea to make him a pinata. so he rounded up some candy and a box and all by himself made a pinata. We took it and our cake and icecream to the cemetary and celebrated the day. It started to rain on us, but overall was a great day filled with many old and many new memories.

Ok so I know its been a while!!! A long while!! but thanks to my friend Kori I am back at it! this will be my way of journal writing and then hopefully print off the blog to book. She did this and said that it was great, good idea Kori, now just if I can actually stick to it! Hopefully this will be a good start! We have been up to alot and been very busy so I will have to go back from time to time and keep updating because I just downloaded about 800 photos from my camera.. thats how long it has been since I have even sat at the computer and taken time to do some fun things.
These photos were just taken on tuesday June 8, 2010. Joes cousin Todd took us flying in his Citabria. PJ was pretty nervous but Kash just loved it a layed back enjoying it all. Thanks Todd!!

Preschool Graduation

Well, now that our camera is back in business (sort of) we can be back to blogging. I guess I am the photo kind of blogger.... these photos are of PJ's preschool Graduation. He was so excited, and wanted a picture with Mrs. Livingston or "Filingston" as he calls her. then the other two are his cute little friend Kady and Tyler Jo, Don't know what we would do without these girls.
Summer is so fun so far, but I wish the rain would stop. T-Ball is taking up two nights a week. and PJ loves it, although he just wants to bat the whole time. I think Joseph enjoys it too because it gives him an excuse to leave work 30 min early. Kash likes to watch but thinks he is big enough to play too. Things are great, and the kids are happy they make us laugh every day. Kash is trying to potty train, and still taking naps. We can't wait till the weather warms up so we can swim.

Two Greased Monkeys

Saturdays Activities included chasing two greased monkeys. Who teaches children to get into the things that they shouldn't but haven't ever been told not to. this was definately PJ's Idea, but Kash thought it was great. the worst part wasn't cleaning the Crisco off of the kitchen rug, but how do you get it off of the kids!! dawn soap and a very slippery bathtub!
